Richard Hong, Hotel Group Financial Controller
Hong has contributed to the opening of hotels and resorts in Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, Italy, Oman, Vietnam, Taiwan, China and Thailand and has held senior finance positions in the hotel and broadcasting industries since 1987.
Between 1993 to 2008: Hong was in Asia and was most recently the Group / Corporate Financial Controller for Adrian Zecha’s private company, GHM (General Hotel Management), based in Singapore, including properties such as The Setai in Miami, The Nam Hai in Vietnam, and The Chedi properties in Thailand, Milan, Oman, and Bali. He was responsible for the finance offices in the then 14 operating units globally during his eleven years with the company.
A Canadian national, Hong holds a Diploma of Hospitality and Tourism Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Burnaby, Canada and has completed the 3rd level of the Certified Management Accountants / The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario, University of Toronto, Canada.
