RJ Lee, Executive Creative Director
RJ Lee is a creative executive with a passion for defining and
visualizing visionary businesses, and revolutionary ideas and
products. Lee has the ability to pinpoint the key values of each
visionary concept, then applying a broad multi-disciplinary approach to
arrive at creative solutions that often change the rules of the game.
Educated in marketing, publishing and design, Lee began the first
phase of his career working for four American magazine publishers. Of
note, in this period was his involvement in the editorial and design
development of Rice Magazine and Asie Magazine, two pioneering
lifestyle publications with a national Asian-American focus.
On returning to Hong Kong, Lee joined Hill & Knowlton as Senior
Creative Consultant, providing strategy and design direction
to key international accounts. Lee was later recruited by the local
award winning graphic design firm, Leo Kwan Creative, where he worked
directly under the principal Creative Director, providing conceptual
development, brand image and graphic design for a wide spectrum of
RJ Lee Studios was established in 1997. Lee’s practice expanded
rapidly to include not only corporate identity, branding and graphic
design, but has broaden to include interior and product design. His
clients in Hong Kong and China include: China Travel
Services, British American Tobacco, American Express, GE Capital, KONE
Elevator, and the Beijing Olympic Games.
Lee is currently developing a line of furniture and house ware
products with a modern Chinese aesthetic and developing a book
chronicling the ‘Golden Age’ of Hong Kong Society Life in the 50’s
As our Executive Creative Director for August Hotels & Properties, Lee
is relishing the challenge of defining our corporate vision, fostering
brand integrity, and assembling the world’s best conceptual and design
talent to execute the unique experience of August’s hotels,
properties, and branded products around the globe.
